Fisher Paykel Active Smart Fridge Problems

My new model is not listed(RF522BLPW6).My question is this re the Active Smart sustem:When I commissioned it yesterday, all the lights were illuminated (and still are) for both the refrigerator and the freezer. Is this how it should be? This setting appears to be the WARMEST setting, given the plus and minus buttons below the lights, but the fridge and freezer are running super cool at present(so I certainly would not want to decrease the light display(making it COLDER).

Seem I might have a fault.Response please.ThanksGeoff. There isnt one. There is a door sensor behind the panel at the bottom of the fridge. You need to replace the sensor.

Just dont cut much off the wire as its not designed to be replaced. If this is stuffed, then there is a wire at the back of the fridge to cut to permanely kill the light and sensor. Get it fixed by fnp under warranty, tell them you arent paying for the tech either if its over two years old as this is a known fridge bug. And the sensor on my parents westinghouse fridge still works 20 years on. I've had this Fisher & Paykal (Model No.

E522B) for a few years. After having had a good experience with a previous fridge/freezer and washing machine from the same company, decided to replace the old one with the E522B model. It makes this loud cracking noise at times, which scares the hell out of everyone, especially the visitors who don't know the source of the noise, and its unpredictability! This has been going on virtually since I bought it, and initially thought it might be a balance-related issue, so followed the instructions on how to balance the fridge properly etc., to no avail. Now it's become really annoying! If anyone has experienced a similar problem and found the solution? I would appreciate sharing it with me.

Problems

I have not experienced the loud cracking noise, however this model is very loud. It produces a lot of noise and unfortunately I have just had to learn to deal with it. I guess it is hard to tell when checking the fridge out in the shop, but for my next fridge I will certainly be doing some noise testing. In the end I bought a spirit level (small size in the shape of a triangle which contains two windows perpendicular to each other) and put that on one of the shelves inside the fridge. It showed that although the fridge was level side to side, front part was considerably higher than the back side! So I undid the two leg-screws underneath the front equally till the spirit level showed the fridge had become level in that direction also, and that was it! Voila - problem is fixed ever since:).

Fisher Paykel Refrigerator Problems

I am not sure. If the fridge section is playing up as well it may have something to with the defrost element, but I suggest you contact them before your warranty runs out otherwise they will charge you for replacement and labour. Oh dear, this is exactly what has happened to ours. Discovered it was not working properly when the bottom draw in the freezer wasn't freezing properly. Fridge on the lowest setting but not as cold as it should be. Ours is 2.5 years old, just out of warranty. Haven't rung FandP yet.

Any luck wth getting yours fixed? I contacted the NSW Dept of Fair Trading by phone and found that under Australian Consumer law, if there is a a major problem with a product, you have a right to ask the retailer for a replacement or refund (see I contacted the retailer, referred to this advice, and the retailer in turn contacted Fisher & Paykel. A couple of days later, F&P rang me and said that they would send a technician to inspect the fridge and that it would be fixed without charge, even though it was out of warranty. The fridge had to be taken away but I was provided with a spare one while it was being serviced.

I now have my fully repaired fridge back, working as it should.I'd recommend contacting your local state Fair Trading department to seek their advice. Worked well for me, hope you have a similar result. View 2 more answers. You can stop it TEMPORARILY by opening the door and briefly pushing the button inside near the temperature control panel (On the back wall at the top right). Then if your fault is same as mine.

(the original problem is the auto defrost fails, the ice builds up inside until the circulation fan is damaged).you can waste good money on a service callout fee (where the guy says i can't fix it you need a new fridge). Then your you have the skills you can go on line buy a fan (it goes behind the back wall of the freezer to circulate the cold air) spend time installing it. Defrost manually.

Listen to a bunch of extra knocking noises later. Then return to the beeping.Final fix? Buy a new fridge. Like i just did.And not f&p funnily enough. For what it's worth choice recommend the LG gb450uplx and it has 4.5 star energy rating and 10yr compressor warranty on its inverter-driven linear compressor. No affiliation but its what i just bought.

Happy so far and it uses 30% less energy than most fridges that size.
